Comptroller to Speak to Baltimore Ministers, Present Proclamation to Auto Parts Store
— Comptroller to Focus Speech on Importance of Being Financially Literate —
WHO: Comptroller Peter Franchot
WHAT: The Comptroller will visit New Shiloh Baptist Church where he will speak to the Baptist Ministers Conference of Baltimore, representing 70 Baptist churches in the Baltimore area. Mr. Franchot will talk about his vision for Maryland’s future, emphasizing the need for financial literacy for youngsters and adults alike in learning how to do budgeting, banking, borrowing, maintaining solid a credit rating, spending, saving and investing.
The Comptroller then will stop by Mainline Auto Parts Corp. and present a proclamation to owner Marvin Miller. The store was founded in 1988 and is one of the region’s largest automotive parts distributors dedicated to serving professional automotive technicians.
