Franchot to Hold Third Town Hall Meeting on Air Conditioning in Baltimore County Public Schools
Concerned Citizens Will Have Opportunity to Voice Their Concerns to Decision Makers

WHAT: Comptroller Peter Franchot will host a third Cool Classrooms Town Hall meeting in Parkville at 6:30 tonight. The meeting will give concerned citizens the opportunity to speak directly to decision makers about the lack of air conditioning in dozens of Baltimore County Public Schools and how the situation is threatening the health and safety of students, teachers and staff.
Comptroller Franchot is a member of the three-person Board of Public Works which gives final approval for the state’s public school construction program. Comptroller Franchot and Governor Larry Hogan have expressed concern about the unsafe and unhealthy conditions in Baltimore County Public Schools and have called for a timely solution.
This past fall, Comptroller Franchot held Cool Classrooms Town Hall meetings in Arbutus and Dundalk. Senior officials from Governor Hogan’s Administration, state Sen. Jim Brochin and state Sen. Johnny Ray Salling have attended as well as Baltimore County Public School students, teachers and parents.
