Franchot to Ride Baltimore Metro with MTA Administrator, Celebrate Md. Zoo Anniversary

WHO:             Comptroller Peter Franchot

WHAT:          Comptroller Franchot will join Maryland Transportation Administrator Paul Comfort this morning to ride the Baltimore City Metro and get an overview of the system. Both men will board at the Charles Center Metro Station and ride to the Lexington Market Station, where the Comptroller will be given a brief tour of the Metro Operations Control Center. From there, they will board Metro again and ride to the Reisterstown Plaza Station for a tour of the Metro Rail Headquarters and Maintenance Facility before making the return trip downtown. 

                        In the afternoon, Comptroller Franchot will present a proclamation to the Maryland Zoo, which is celebrating its 140th anniversary this year. The third oldest zoo in America, the 135-acre preserve is located in historic Druid Hill Park in northwest Baltimore and is home to more than 2,000 animals.
