Franchot to Speak at National Night Out Events in Baltimore to Encourage Partnerships
Comptroller to Stop by Glen, Langston Hughes and Bel Air-Edison Neighborhoods
WHO: Comptroller Peter Franchot
WHAT: Comptroller Franchot will speak at three National Night Out events in Baltimore Tuesday evening. His first stop will be at the Glen Neighborhood Improvement Association’s block party on Rosecrest Avenue. Glen is one of the largest communities in Northern Park Heights. Maxine Webb, president of the GNIA, will introduce the Comptroller.
Mr. Franchot will then head to the Langston Hughes Neighborhood event at the former elementary school on Arbutus Avenue. Representatives from the police and fire departments will provide food, games and entertainment. George Mitchell, president of Neighborhoods United, will introduce the Comptroller.
His final stop will be a cookout at Herring Run Park hosted by the Bel Air-Edison Neighborhoods, Inc., a nonprofit, community-based organization that works to foster an environment to encourage residents, business owners and community stakeholders to work together. Barbara Faltz-Jackson, president of Frankford Improvement Association, will introduce the Comptroller.
National Night Out is an annual campaign to promote police-community partnership and improve relations to make each neighborhood a safer and better place to live.
