Franchot to Speak Friday in Silver Spring and Mt. Airy
Events include Maryland India Business Roundtable, Linganore’s 40th anniversary celebration

WHAT: Comptroller Franchot will be the keynote speaker today at the Maryland India Business Roundtable’s (MIBRT) Asian American Business Executive Luncheon, giving remarks about “Doing Business in Maryland.” The MIBRT was established in 2006 and provides networking opportunities for members and the state’s Indian-American business community.
The Comptroller will then visit Linganore Winecellars in Mt. Airy to present a proclamation for the business’ 40th anniversary celebration, which is being held all weekend. The family-operated vineyard and winery was established by Jack and Lucille Aellen in 1971 and opened to the public in 1976. It is one of the oldest wineries on the East Coast, and the second generation of wine makers is celebrating with the start of the 2016 harvest from their 75-acre estate vineyards.
