Cardin to Host Roundtable on Educational Excellence with Local School Superintendents and State Officials
Monday, July 20 at 10:30 AM, U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-Md.) will host an education roundtable in Baltimore just days after the Senate passed the Every Child Achieves Act, reauthorizing federal elementary and secondary education programs and funding. The discussion will include ways to better promote excellence in public school systems throughout Maryland. Senator Cardin will be joined by local superintendents and state education officials in a conversation on the progressive national reforms he has supported. Senator Cardin also will invite suggestions from Marylandโs education leaders on other innovative ways to improve the educational experience for Americaโs students, ensuring that all children receive the high-quality education they deserve.
โI strongly believe that public education is Americaโs great equalizer, and that providing access to a high-quality education is one of the most important priorities of government,โ said Senator Cardin. โIโll be joined Monday by officials and administrators with first-person perspectives on our public educational systemโs strengths and weaknesses, and I look forward to hearing from them about ways we can better serve an even greater number of students.โ
