Cardin in Anne Arundel County to Mark Latest Success of “Maryland Home Makeover” Program

Senator to join Partnership for Housing Foundation and Grace Pointe Community Church of the Nazarene to unveil new home for developmentally disabled brothers

Monday, November 17 at 1:00 PM, U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-Md.) will be in Pasadena, Md., for the ribbon-cutting and dedication ceremony for the latest project of the Partnership for Housing Foundation’s transformative “Maryland Home Makeover” program. Senator Cardin and the assembled partners will celebrate the unveiling of a new home for two developmentally disabled brothers whose former house was literally falling down around them.

“Struggling to overcome their developmental challenges, brothers Mike and Doug have managed to hold jobs and earn a living for the 25 years since their mother passed away. Despite their efforts and the support of their friends at the Grace Pointe Community Church of the Nazarene, their family home had fallen into serious disrepair. With tremendous help from the ‘Maryland Home Makeover’ program and a remarkable number of local business and community leaders, they now have a secure, healthy and comfortable home that will keep them safe for years to come,” said Senator Cardin. “This is Marylanders helping Marylanders at its finest, and I couldn’t be prouder of all the people and businesses who helped make this possible.”
