Cardin in Frederick to Discuss Future of Affordable Care Act, Growth of Local Small Businesses
TOMORROW, Monday, July 31, U.S. Senator Ben Cardin will take part in three events in Frederick, Md., to underscore the important connections between federal policies and the local community.

Monday, July 31 at 9:30 AM, Senator Cardin will join local public and behavioral health practitioners and advocates at Frederick Memorial Hospital to discuss what the latest developments in federal health care policy mean for Marylanders. A member of the Senate Finance Health Care Subcommittee, Senator Cardin will outline opportunities for bipartisan improvements to the Affordable Care Act, now that the latest congressional effort to repeal and/or replace it have failed.

A senior member of the Senate Committee on Small Business and Entrepreneurship, Senator Cardin will provide an update on key issues at the federal level and hear first-hand from small business leaders on ways to stimulate growth in their sectors.

Part of the senator’s “Listen in MD” tour, which aims to provide all Marylanders the opportunity to discuss priority issues directly with the senator, the forum will focus on potential local impacts of decisions on federal budgets and agency priorities.
