Cardin to Lead Roundtable Discussion in Prince George’s County on Gun Violence
Friday, October 23 at 12:00PM, U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-Md.) will host a roundtable discussion in Prince George’s County, featuring Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Angela Alsobrooks, on ways to stem the increased gun violence harming our communities in Maryland and beyond. The conversation will include community leaders, public policy advocates, clergy, mental and medical health professionals, law enforcement and local elected officials and will address potential causes and solutions to gun violence, including gun safety legislation recently proposed in the U.S. Senate.
“We can no longer sit on the sidelines as senseless gun violence continues to tear apart our communities. Earlier this month, I joined my Senate colleagues in putting forth common-sense solutions to help address our nation’s firearms crisis,” said Senator Cardin. “These are logical steps that will help to save lives—and they are widely supported by the American people, regardless of political party.”
