MADE in MD: Cardin to Discuss Building Success at Canam Group in Point of Rocks
Senator to tour production floor, meet with corporate leaders at Frederick County facility that provides 300 jobs
TODAY, Friday, October 16 at 11:00 AM, U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-Md.) will bring his “Made in Maryland” jobs tour, which highlights the diversity of Maryland-made products and the Marylanders who create them, to the Canam Group production facility in Point of Rocks, Md. Senator Cardin will meet with corporate leadership and members of the workforce of the Canam Group, the largest fabricator of steel components in North America, before touring a plant that constructs state-of-the-art buildings, joists and bridges.
“Maryland is home to a strong manufacturing base, and the Canam Group is an excellent example of the magnitude of contributions that companies with a strongly rooted presence in Maryland make to our nation’s infrastructure,” said Senator Cardin. “These companies deserve a federal partner that is equally committed to sustained economic expansion as they are, and we must emerge from this era of short-term federal budgets, continuing resolutions and sequestration if we are to give the manufacturing sector the long-term stability to plan for growth.”
