Yolanda Copeland, senior vice president of Patient Services and chief nursing officer (CNO) at Saint Agnes Hospital, was recently honored as winner of the 2010 Nursing Spectrum Excellence Award in the competitions “ Advancing and Leading the Profession” category in the Baltimore metropolitan region. 

?Copeland was selected from five finalists in the Advancing & Leading the Profession category and will compete with the other regional winners from across the country for the national Nurse of the Year Awards in the fall.

She has been a nurse for more than 30 years, growing from staff nurse to CNO. Bonnie Phipps, resident and CEO of Saint Agnes Hospital, lauded Copeland’s work, saying, “Yolanda is a transformational leader who exemplifies lifelong learning and has mastered the significance of collaboration, partnership and teamwork. She has always been a strong supporter of continuing education and professional development for nurses both at Saint Agnes and beyond.” ?
