Baltimore City State’s Attorney-elect Marilyn Mosby.

(Baltimore, MD) The Baltimore City Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) will hold its Annual Freedom Fund Banquet on Friday, November 7, 2014 at 6:00 pm at Martin’s West, 6817 Dogwood Road, Windsor Mill, MD.

Baltimore City State’s Attorney-elect Marilyn Mosby will deliver the keynote address at this year’s banquet.  Mrs. Mosby defeated the incumbent State’s Attorney in the Democratic Party primary in June and was the only candidate on the ballot for the general election earlier this week.  She is a former Assistant State’s Attorney and clerked in the U.S. Attorney’s Offices in Boston, MA and Washington, D.C.

“We’re excited to welcome Marilyn Mosby to deliver our keynote address following her election this past Tuesday,” said Tessa Hill-Aston, President of the Baltimore City NAACP.  “We look forward to hearing her vision for the criminal justice system in Baltimore and hope she gives us a call to action to help her be successful in pursuing justice, fairness and equity.”

The Annual Freedom Fund Banquet is the local organization’s largest fundraiser of the year and gives the branch the opportunity to honor citizens for their outstanding contributions to the community.
