COMPTON, Calif. (AP) — A sheriff’s official says former rap mogul Suge Knight has been taken to a hospital complaining of chest pains after he appeared in court in a murder case.

Knight pleaded not guilty earlier Tuesday to murder, attempted murder and hit-and-run charges during a brief court appearance.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Officer John Gardner says Knight was taken to a hospital after complaining of chest pains.

No additional details were available.

Knight appeared in court in orange jail attire.

The 49-year-old Knight could face life in prison if convicted.
