U.S. Rep. Summer Lee (D-Pa.-12) secured her partyโ€™s nomination for a third term in Congress, defeating challenger Will Parker in the May 19 Pennsylvania Democratic primary. Lee led Parker by 62.3 percentage points, according to the Associated Press as of May 20. James Hayes was the Republican nominee for the seat in the general election. Parker defeated Hayes by about 13 percentage points in the 2024 election.

Former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms won the Democratic nomination for governor of Georgia on May 19. She defeated her top opponent, Jason Esteves, by 37.5 percentage points, according to the Associated Press as of May 20. AP called the race at 10:30 p.m. on May 19. Bottoms was the only Black woman in the primary field.
