Maryland, other states urge FDA to lift restrictions on abortion pill

Maryland Attorney General Anthony G. Brown, along with officials from 16 states and Washington, D.C., is urging the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to lift restrictions on mifepristone, a key drug used in medication abortions. The coalition argues the FDA’s requirements are unnecessary, medically unjustified, and place undue burdens on patients and providers, especially in rural and underserved communities.
