Dystany Spurlock set to become the 1st Black woman to compete in one of NASCAR’s national series

Dystany Spurlock is set to make history as the first Black woman to compete in one of NASCAR’s three national series when she debuts in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series at Dover Motor Speedway. The 34-year-old racer, who recently competed in both stock car and pro stock motorcycle racing, said she hopes her journey inspires young Black girls and boys to pursue motorsports despite the lack of representation she experienced growing up.
