Serena Williams withdraws from doubles match with sister Venus at Wimbledon due to injury

Serena Williams has withdrawn from her Wimbledon first-round doubles match with sister Venus Williams because of a right knee injury sustained during her singles comeback earlier in the week. The six-time Wimbledon doubles champions were forced to pull out despite the match being delayed to aid Serena’s recovery, though she hinted on social media that she hopes to return to competition before the U.S. Open.
