Aisha Cooper, 17, recently took top honors at the Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship’s (NFTE DC Region) 31st semi-annual Regional Business Plan Competition, when she wowed judges with her business plan for her dog walking start-up, PuppyLOVE.

Aisha attends TC Williams High School and edged out four other teenage entrepreneurs from the region for the first place prize, $1,500 seed capital investment to launch her business.

The 12th-grader was among five area students who presented their business models to a panel of 12 business and community leaders.

NFTE is a nonprofit organization that teaches entrepreneurship, business and life skills to high school students living in low-income communities.
