The Top Ladies of Distinction (TLOD) is a national, nonprofit, educational and humanitarian organization. Their main thrust includes mentoring youth through their Top Teens of America chapters, enhancing the status of women, enriching the lives of senior citizens and community beautification. The Empowerment in P.I.N.K. (Purposeful -Involvement-Necessary-Keeping Community Service First) is an annual fun filled gala where TLOD’s community partners and supporters are recognized and honored. Funds raised support continued community endeavors. The chair of the Ways and Means Committee, Nicolette Offutt, spearheaded the event that was held at Martin’s Camelot, Largo, Md. Chapter officers are: Jacqueline Wilcher, president; Shelley Henderson, 1st vice president; Alana Smoaks, 2nd vice president; ShaDowna Jones, treasurer; Solita Dallas, financial secretary; DeShanta Rhea, recording secretary; Dennine Powe, historian; Tracey Jackson, CIO; Gwendolyn Walton, sergeant at arms and Alisa Boykins, TTA advisor.
