MONDAY: Cardin and HUD Secretary to Visit Prince George’s County for Discussion on Foreclosures, Housing

Spotlight on efforts in Prince George’s County to support current and aspiring Maryland homeowners

TODAY – Monday, December 8 at 2:00 PM, U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-Md.) and Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Julián Castro, will host a roundtable discussion on housing issues at the Prince George’s County Administration Building in Upper Marlboro, Md.

“Prince George’s County was Ground Zero for Maryland during the peak of the housing crisis. Across our state, we are seeing positive signs of recovery, but homeowners in Prince George’s County need to know that we are still providing the support and resources to help preserve their dream of home ownership,” said Senator Cardin. “We remain mindful that too many Maryland families still are on the brink of losing their homes. We also should be finding ways to help more Marylanders take advantage of a housing market that is now ripe with opportunities. In partnership with our federal agencies, as well as state and local officials and counseling agencies, we will continue to find ways to protect and expand home ownership in Maryland.”
