One-in-four Baltimoreans live in a so-called, “food desert,” areas where healthy food availability is low, according to a joint report by the City of Baltimore and Johns Hopkins. And not surprisingly most of those people are Black and poor. We’ll devote the five o’clock hour to the pervasive issue of healthy food scarcity in Baltimore with a panel of experts on the subject, as well as Baltimore City Health Commissioner Leana Wen and Ninth District Councilman Pete Welch.
