Former Brooklyn, New York Congressman Edolphus Towns is lobbying for reform of the judicial practice of, “mandatory minimums.” We’ll talk to Towns about his effort and the effect mandatory minimums have had on communities of color over the years. And well publicized, numerous incidents of police brutality and racial violence directed at Black Americans which has caused a state of emergency in the minds of many, and challenged the mental health of many in the Black community. We’ll talk to mental health experts about the psychological and emotional price of being Black in America.  It’s all coming up this evening on AFRO’s First Edition with Sean Yoes.
