Several members of the University of the District of Columbia women’s outdoor track and field team remains ranked either nationally or regionally, according to the USTFCCCA poll released April 24.
UDC senior Kaneesha Hollis is currently ranked No. 1 in the East Region and No. 20 in the nation in the 400 meter race after finishing with a personal best time of 55.74 in the Johnson C, Smith Invitational on April 13. The Centreville, Md. native is also a member of UDC’s 4×400 meter team—along with sophomore Kaydian Jones, freshman Kimoy Mais and junior Callister Jones, which ranks No. 6 regionally.
Junior Calister Jones, a Fort Washington, Md. native, also ranked nationally at 29th in the 400 meter race, No. 2 regionally after placing a time of 56.14 in the JCSU event.
Other UDC track and field members ranked regionally include freshman Tatyana Commock (Washington, D.C. native), sophomore Areial Clark and sophomore Shauna-Kay Creary. Commock ranks No. 8 in the 100 meter; Clark ranks No. 4 in the shot put, and Creary ranks No. 7 in the long-jump.
According to UDC Sports Information Office, a select group of UDC track and field athletes will compete at the famous annual Penn Relays at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Pa. scheduled to start on April 26.
