MetroStage will open their 2015-2016 season with the Gabrielle Fulton play “UPRISING” from Sept. 17 to Oct. 25 at the MetroStage, 1201 N. Royal Street.  Performances will occur on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Sundays at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. The play tells the story of a free Black community during recession-era America. The play centers a revolutionary, Ossie, who meets a young woman  named Sal and  they both embark on a mission to liberate themselves and their community from racial turmoil. The play,directed by Thomas W. Jones II,  is based on the true story of Osborne Perry Anderson, and features Anthony Manough and  Cynthia D.
