The ex-wife of Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Warren Moon was arrested Feb. 20 on charges of public lewdness after she and a man were caught having sex in a field behind Prairie View A&M University’s stadium.
“Individuals pointing at a male and female alerted the officer (and he) subsequently observed the male and female engaged in a lewd sexual act,” Prairie View Police Chief Jason Barrett told Houston CBS affiliate KHOU.
Felicia Moon and James Thomas were caught in the middle of a trail rider’s camp, which is a Black rodeo club. Thomas is a member of the trail ride, but Moon isn’t. According to the boss of the trail ride, none of the members of her group saw what happened and it really isn’t a big deal to her members.
“Well, they were out on the field, so whatever,” Nannie Francies told KHOU. “I don’t see it as a big deal. When people go out on the trail, people tend to do what they want to do.”
Felicia and Warren Moon were married for 21 years before the relationship went south in 1996 after she accused him of assaulting her. She dropped the charges and eventually filed for divorce in 2001.
Felicia Moon has worked as a freelance writer and opened a Christian book store in 2002.
According to The Houston Chronicle, the charges are Class A misdemeanors. Both Thomas and Moon have been released on $500 bail.
