Hundreds of residents gathered at the annual National Night Out kickoff at H.D. Woodson High School in Northeast D.C. Mayor
Vincent Gray and District Metropolitan Police Chief Cathy Lanier were present.
The theme of the night was “Summer of Love: Love Your Self and Your Health.” Activities for children and adults included information to prevent crime, preparing children for the upcoming school year, and interacting with District police with bike rides and games. A movie night concluded the event at nearby Marvin Gaye Park.
