Dr. Tony Evans shared the news of Pitts’ death via a post on Twitter. He wrote:

“My niece Wynter Evans Pitts…unexpectedly passed away last night. A beautiful mother of four girls and a devoted wife, Wynter loved her family with a deep commitment. Please keep her husband Jonathan, her four young daughters and our entire family in your prayers,” wrote Evans.

One of her four daughters, Alena Pitts, who played the role of Danielle Jordan in the faith-based movie “War Room,” also posted the news that has devastated her family on Instagram.

She wrote: “On July 24…Jesus took my precious mommy…off this earth. It happened within a couple hours and was so sudden. My heart hurts like never before. Comfort seems far. Anxiety is extremely present. It feels like a dream that I will wake up from soon. Please be praying for my family as my three younger sisters and I have lost our mommy and my dad has lost his best friend.”

According to a report in CBN News (Christian Broadcast Network), Pitts was the founder of a ministry called “For Girls Like You” as well as a magazine by the same name, which focuses on girls ages 6-11. She and her husband, Jonathan, are authors of the book, {She Is Yours: Trusting God As You Raise the Girl He Gave You}.

Pitts leaves to mourn her parents Viola Carter and Maurice Evans and her grandfather Rev. Arthur Evans, Sr., all of Baltimore, her husband Jonathan Pitts, four daughters and many family members and friends. Funeral services will be held July 28 at the Oaks Church, Red Oak, Texas. Her cousin and best friend, Priscilla Shirer, is the eulogist.
