Day two of the 2026 Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association’s (CIAA) Men’s and Women’s Basketball tournament featured close contests and commanding victories, with some teams solidifying their spot in the competition’s semifinals set for Feb. 27 at CFG Bank Arena.

The Johnson C. Smith Golden Bulls opened day two on Feb. 25 with a tight 61-60 win over Elizabeth City State University, while Bluefield State University followed with a 65-55 defeat of the Winston-Salem State University Rams. 

The women took the court in the afternoon for the first two quarterfinals of the tournament. The Winston-Salem State Lady Rams secured a decisive 71-49 victory over the Bluefield State women’s team, while the Lady Bulldogs from Bowie State University overcame the Livingstone College Blue Bears 72-51. 

In the evening, the Lincoln University Lions succumbed to the Virginia State University Trojans  60-76 in the first men’s quarterfinal. The Fayetteville State University Broncos closed out day two with a 86-83 win over the Bowie State University Bulldogs in a nailbiter finish.
