If you’ve ever belonged to Metropolitan United Methodist Church in Baltimore’s Lafayette Square, there’s an APB out for you. No you haven’t broken any laws– but there is a search for former members to make an upcoming celebration even more wonderful.

Metropolitan is celebrating its 200th anniversary, 11 a.m., March 9, and is looking to complete its circle of members and friends.

The Rev. Dr. Michelle Holmes-Chaney is the former pastor of Metropolitan United Methodist Church in Baltimore’s Lafayette Square. She will be the guest speaker at the church’s 200th anniversary celebration on March 9. (Courtesy photo)

First, they’re looking for senior saints who marched from their former location at Orchard Street Church to their current 1121 W. Lanvale address. If you are that person or know someone who qualifies, please call Eleanor Brown with the information at 410-523-1366. Also contact her if you’d like to set up a memorial in the name of one of those pioneers or one of your loved ones.

For that special day, former pastor, the Rev. Dr. Michelle Holmes-Chaney is the guest preacher for the day. A trained coach and consultant specializing in church revitalization, she is currently the director for leadership and church vitality in the Northern Virginia District of the Virginia Annual Conference.

Following that historic gathering, brunch will be served at St. James Episcopal Church Parish.
