(BALTIMORE) WEAA 88.9 FM is pleased to announce that Baltimore political insider Anthony McCarthy will host a new talk show on the public radio station.

McCarthy, who served as the spokesperson for Mayors Sheila Dixon, Stephanie Rawlings-Blake and Catherine Pugh as well as Congressman Elijah Cummings and Congressman Kweisi Mfume, hosted an award-winning talk show on the station for several years before accepting positions at City Hall.  The Anthony McCarthy Show was named the Best Radio Talk Show in 2015 by Baltimore Magazine. McCarthy also hosted The Weekly News Roundup on WYPR 88.1 FM.

He will be co-hosting “Two Way Talk” with Morgan State University student Cara Williams. She is a senior at the School for Global Journalism and Communications following a 20-year career as a Baltimore City Police officer.

“Two Way Talk” will air on Monday through Friday from 5-7 p.m. and will begin on Tuesday, July 6, 2021. The show will feature guest interviews, discussions about current events and news headlines and delve into cultural issues around politics, entertainment, civil rights, advocacy, food, education and the arts. It will also showcase analysis and commentaries by former mayors Sheila Dixon and Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, former police commissioners Darryl De Sousa and Anthony Barksdale and a variety of other officials, 

McCarthy was recently the spokesperson for Baltimore Inspector General Isabel Mercedes Cumming.
