The Baltimore Orioles will open their 2026 season on March 26 at 3:05 p.m EST at Oriole Park at Camden Yards, hosting the Minnesota Twins in a matchup that signals a fresh start after their 75-87 season last year.

Baltimore will enter the season under new leadership, with Craig Albernaz now serving the franchise as manager. During a press conference posted to the team’s Youtube page, Albernaz said he wants to emphasize energy and accountability as key pillars for the team’s progression.
“We’re gonna play a very exciting brand of baseball,” Albernaz said. “I just can’t wait for the fans to come out to watch our boys compete.”

The game features a pitching match between two of the best starters, Minnesota Twins right-hander Joe Ryan and Baltimore Orioles left-hander Trevor Rogers. This marks the sixth time the two teams have met on opening day.
Albernaz said the decision to start Trevor Rogers reflects both performance and preparation.
“There was a lot that went into it,” Albernaz said. “He deserves it after last year. We couldn’t be happier to give the ball to Trevor.”

Baltimore’s front office has shown confidence in the team’s ability to take a step forward this season. General manager Mike Elias has made moves to strengthen the roster through key additions and internal development.
The Orioles are aiming to make a push for the postseason with their new additions and increased pitching depth.
Opening Day also brings in storylines, including outfielder Tyler O’Neill, who is chasing history. O’Neill enters the game with six consecutive Opening Day home runs, an MLB record, and is looking to extend the streak to seven.
