“Fame: Beyonce”, a comic book centered on the pop diva’s rise to fame, was released this week, promising a rare look into the singer’s life.
According to a media release, the comic unveils new facets of Beyonce’s career and personal life, including her evolution into a solo artist that even the most avid fans don’t know.
“For a person seemingly always in the public eye, Beyonce has led a relatively private life,” the comic’s publisher, Bluewater Productions, said in a release.
The comic, penned by CW Cooke and stenciled by artist Alex Lopez, is available in comic bookstores and on Amazon.com for $3.99.
Other celebrities to grace Bluewater Productions’ biography comics include Michelle Obama, Oprah, Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber. “Fame: The Black Eyed Peas” is scheduled to hit stores March 23.
Darren G. Davis, Bluewater publisher, said his company has found a “niche” with their biography-styled comics.
“Our success with this comic shows that there is a much wider audience for sequential storytelling than many thought,” he said in a statement. “These readers are simply looking for something other than superheroes or horror. With our bio comics, we strive to bring these new readers evenhanded, well-researched looks at some of their favorite celebrities.”
