Coppin State senior pitcher Paige Arnold has been named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the MEAC on April 2.

Arnold led Coppin to a three-game sweep of the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore during the first weekend of April, recording an earned-run average of zero during the game. In 16 total innings, Paige allowed just four hits, no earned-runs while striking out 23 batters.

The Detroit, Mich. native started the three-game series by throwing a no-hitter in the first game, striking out 11 batters in a 7-0 win. It was the third no-hitter of her four-year career. Paige topped the weekend off by also batting well at the plate, hitting a high percentage of .444 with four runs batted in.

Other MEAC players honored this week include Delaware Stateโ€™s Jordan Reid (Player of the Week) and Norfolk Stateโ€™s Haley Ward (Rookie of the Week).
Coppin (12-14 overall) will take on another three-game series starting April 6 when they host Howard University in Baltimore.
