Olympic gold medal gymnast Gabby Douglas was pleasantly surprised when she appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno alongside First Lady Michelle Obama.

The trio chatted about Douglas’ excitement of being on the show and her thoughts on the competition.

“I never thought I’d be doing the show with the first lady, or even you Jay,” said Douglass.

Douglas revealed that she did not have an opportunity to celebrate her wins immediately after because of her hectic schedule. “We didn’t have time to celebrate… But after the competition I splurged on an Egg McMuffin at McDonald’s,” said Douglas while laughing.

Obama leaned over to Gabby and replied, “Gabby, we don’t eat Mc Donald’s. I’m sure it was a whole wheat McMuffin… You’re setting me back Gabby. ”

First Lady Michelle Obama has been a strong proponent of healthy diets and exercise since launching her Let’s Move campaign on Feb. 9, 2010. The campaign is dedicated to solving childhood obesity and putting children to a health path during their early stages in life.

At the campaign launch in 2010 Obama said, “The physical and emotional health of an entire generation and the economic health and security of our national is at stake.”

Since winning the gold medal in the all-around individual competition, Douglas signed a lucrative endorsement deal with Kellogg’s and joins other athletes as one of the newest faces of Kellogg’s Corn Flakes.
