NEW YORK/Fuquay-Varina, N.C.—For the fourth-straight week, the Grambling State Tigers (8-1) sit atop the latest editions of the HBCU Football top-10 Power Ranking polls.

Winners of eight straight games, the Tigers received nine of 13 first-place votes in the coaches poll while receiving 16 of the 22 first-place nods in the media poll.

As was the case last week, the top four teams in the media poll remained the same.

Undefeated Bethune-Cookman (9-0) is second followed by another unbeaten team, the Albany State Golden Rams (10-0) at No. 3. The Golden Rams won the South Interscholastic Athletic Conference Championship with a 12-7 victory over Fort Valley State in the Fountain City Classic in Columbus, Ga., Saturday. South Carolina State (7-2) is fourth and Tuskegee (8-2) rounds out the top five.

The remainder of the media poll has Morehouse (8-2) at six, while Jackson State (6-3) is seven. Shaw (8-2) enters the poll at No. 8 with its 10-6 victory over Saint Augustine’s. The Bears won the CIAA Southern Division crown and will face Virginia State in the CIAA Championship Game on Saturday at Durham County Stadium in Durham, N.C.

Saint Augustine’s (8-2) and Texas Southern (6-3) are tied for ninth.

As for the coaches’ poll, Grambling State, Bethune-Cookman, and South Carolina State are 1-2-3 for the third-straight week. Texas Southern (6-3) and Florida A&M each moved up one spot to four and five, respectively.

The remainder of the poll includes Alabama State (6-3) moving up three spots to six followed by Jackson State (6-3) at seven and Prairie View A&M (5-4) at No. 8. Hampton (5-4) and Arkansas-Pine Bluff (5-4) are nine and 10, respectively.

There are some big matchup’s this week as one of the games of the week features Grambling vs. Texas Southern in a nationally televised Thursday night game. The other game of the week is the CIAA Championship Game between Virginia State and Shaw which will air on Classics Sports Radio Network. Other key games include Alcorn State at Prairie View A&M and Jackson State at Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Bethune-Cookman can wrap-up the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference crown with a win over Howard in Daytona Beach. Below are both the coaches’ and media’s top-10 polls through Nov. 8:
