WASHINGTON (AP) — Tyler Stone scored 19 points, Damon Collins had 14 and made five assists, and Howard beat Maryland-Eastern Shore 79-69 on Monday night to end a two-game skid.

Marcel Boyd, Kofi Andho and Charles Williams scored 12 apiece for the Bison (8-22, 5-10 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference), who shot 43.6 percent from the floor and held the Hawks to 36.8 percent. Solomon Mangham grabbed 12 rebounds.

The Hawks rallied to a 49-48 lead early in the second half on Bakari Copeland’s jumper, but the Bison found answers and led 62-58 on Williams’ 3-pointer with 3:45 to play. The Hawks closed to 75-69 on Tyler Jones’ 3-pointer with 46 seconds left, but got no closer.

The Hawks tied it at 31 on Copeland’s 3-pointer and led after his two free throws, but Williams dunked, Stone made a layup and the Bison led 42-35 at halftime on Williams’ 3-pointer.

Copeland scored 16 points, McIntosh had 14, and Dontae Caldwell added 12 for the Hawks (11-19, 8-7).
