The Howard University Lady Bison basketball team suffered its first loss in six games as they fell to the North Carolina A&T Lady Aggies, 58-54, Feb. 12 in Greensboro, N.C.
Howard redshirt-sophomore forward Saadia Doyle nearly recorded a double-double with a team-high 18 points and nine rebounds. Sophomore guards Cheyenne Curley-Payne and Tamoria Holmes also performed well offensively and defensively for the Lady Bison. Curley-Payne scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and four steals, while Holmes added 10 points, six rebounds and six steals.
But N.C. A&T still managed to pull out a victory at home, simultaneously snapping Howard’s five-game winning streak. Howard now drops to a 10-15 overall record so far on the season (7-5 against the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference), and will face Norfolk State University on Feb. 14. N.C. A&T (11-11 overall, 8-4) will face Hampton University on the same date.
