The Morgan State bowling team returned to competition over the weekend after a week off during the Thanksgiving break and went 6-4 overall in the second Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) North Division event of the season.
On Dec. 3, Day 1 of competition, the Lady Bears went 2-3 in the traditional team games. Morgan State knocked off rival Coppin State (936-814), before losing to both Delaware State (866-901) and Hampton (808-875). The Lady Bears then defeated Howard (913-855), but lost to Maryland Eastern Shore (751-951).
On Dec. 4, bowling in the baker games, the Lady Bears put together a 4-1 mark. Morgan State defeated Delaware State (860-847), Coppin State (741-590) and Howard (881-679). The team dropped a decision to Maryland Eastern Shore (772-878) and concluded with a victory over Hampton (860-710).
Keisheena Waldon led the Lady Bears with a total of 918 pins, including a high game of 200 against Howard. Atoya Leatherbury finished with 874 pins and Brianna Smith notched a team-high 203 pins against Coppin State.
The Lady Bears return to action on Wednesday, Dec. 21 when they travel to Laurel, Md. and look to defend their 2010 Bowie State Lady Bulldog Invitational title. The two-day competition will conclude on Thursday, Dec. 22.
