The Center for Global Studies & International Education held the welcoming ceremony of the Young African Leadership Initiative (YALI), June 16 in the Murphy Fine Arts Recital Hall. This prestigious program was awarded to the university by the White House. Morgan joined the ranks of 25 other universities throughout the USA who are host to 25 sub-Saharan African young professionals on campuses for a six week program that is centered on Public Management in American society.

The purpose of this program is to strengthen the relations between the United States and the continent of Africa. By engaging the next cadre of leaders in Africa, the US is laying the groundwork for a productive partnership that will promote a global community. We request that you join us in welcoming our distinguished Fellows to the university. The program will take place on Monday June 16, 2014 at 9am. The venue for this event is the Murphy Fine Arts Recital Hall. Immediately following the ceremony there will be a brunch and an opportunity for you to personally greet the African Fellows in the James E. Lewis Art Gallery. We thank you in advance for your support in ensuring this program’s success. Should you have any additional questions, please contact our office at extension 4027, or by email:
