On Aug. 24, the National Juvenile Defender Center is hosting a book discussion and signing with author and activist Jim St. Germain at Busboys and Poets, located between 14th and V, from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. His new memoir, { A Stone of Hope}, was published by HarperCollins in July.  St. Germain, co-founder of Preparing Leaders of Tomorrow, calls for dedicated advocates to lift up youth strength and potential — especially youth caught in the juvenile and criminal court systems. The conversation will focus on St. Germain’s personal story and how it reflects larger themes of race, justice reform, and the importance of ensuring every young person has a champion who partners with them to build bridges to success.  The program will also include Robert Listenbee, former administrator of the Department of Justice, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, and Mary Ann Scali, executive director of the National Juvenile Defender Center.
