The annual Hispanic Heritage Month Family Day is scheduled to be hosted by the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery, located on 8th and F St., NW, on Sept. 30 from at 11:30 a.m. The event is free and plans to commemorate and celebrate the culture and traditions of the Hispanic community. Toddlers up to age 5 can learn about the history behind the gallery’s pieces by listening to stories and partaking in hands-on activities. The event will also include live performances, art and fun activities, as well as curator talks throughout the day. For more information, visit npg.si.edu.
