Authorities say one of four people wanted in connection with a shooting aboard a Metro red line train in Takoma Park, which is located in Montgomery County, Md.,  has been arrested and charged with assault.

Metro Transit Police said in a statement Aug. 7 that 18-year-old Jermaine Brown of Seat Pleasant, Md., which is located in Prince Georgeโ€™s County, has been arrested and charged with assault.

Transit Police say an investigation showed the victim in the shooting is the half-brother of the suspect and police donโ€™t believe he was the intended target. Police say Brown was traveling with his half-brother on Aug. 6 when there was an altercation aboard the train involving Brown and three other individuals.

Police say during the altercation Brown pulled a gun and fired multiple times, striking his half-brother once in the abdomen. Brownโ€™s half-brother remains hospitalized in stable condition.

Police are working to locate the other three individuals involved in the altercation.
