Reginald Lewis’ death is the latest murder being investigated by the Prince Georges County Homicide Unit. Lewis, 24, was found Aug. 10 on a roadway in Clinton, Md. suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. “The investigation is still underway,” Cpl. Lamar Robinson, a spokesperson for the county’s police department told the AFRO.

On Aug. 5, the Homicide Unit arrested suspect Mitchell Hall for the May 25 murder of Hakim Akinbi, 30, in Temple Hills, Md. An investigation revealed the two were involved in an ongoing dispute.
Patrol units from the Bladensburg Police Department found Erik Kelly, 26, suffering from gunshot wounds on Aug. 1. “When units arrived on the scene they found an adult male in the parking lot of the townhouse community suffering from trauma to his upper body,” Bladensburg Police Chief Charles L. Owens told Prince Georges Sentinel. “The victim was pronounced dead on the scene by county paramedics.”
Officers also arrested Kumalo Ealom on Aug. 5. Both Hall, 30, and Ealom, 40, were charged with first and second degree murder, and are being held at the Prince Georges County Department of Corrections without bond.
There have been 60 homicides in the county as of Aug. 17, a rise from 37 homicides during the same time a year ago.
