A Maryland man died after being shot in a Southeast parking lot on April 27. District authorities are looking for the suspected killers.

Christopher Devin Heard, 37, Oxon Hill, Md. in Prince George’s County, was fatally shot around 4 a.m. April 27. Police said officials were called to the scene after receiving reports about a man down in the 2300 block of Ainger Place, SE.

Heard was found unconscious and suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in a parking lot in front of a Southeast residence, according to police. Police said he died on the scene.

The Metropolitan Police Department released video surveillance of the violent incident, showing two suspects and a vehicle of interest. The footage shows what appears to be a black car drive onto the lot and park. The two suspects get out of the vehicle. One of the suspects is wearing dark pants and white and black sneakers, while the other suspect is wearing a baseball cap and denim.

The video does not show the actual shooting. The two suspects are behind a truck when the incident takes place and then they run away and ride off in the vehicle.

Police said still in search of the suspected shooters. “The case remains under investigation and no arrests have been made,” Aquita Brown, a spokesperson for the department, told the AFRO on May 1. Police do not have a motive for the homicide.

Violent crime in the District is down 10 percent from the same time last year (6,387 in 2016, 5,759 in 2017) as of May 2, according to D.C. police data. The area of the shooting had 21 crime incidents in the last year with 11 incidents occurring in 2017.
