Phyllis Otten was installed as the first Black and first female president of her Auxiliary of American Legion Post 116, located at 1090 Westminster Pike, Reisterstown, Maryland. Her installation took place on June 3. She is also a long time member of Trinity No.5 Order of the Eastern Star at Prince Hall.
