Cardin in Sandtown-Winchester, Towson to Discuss a Better Deal for Marylanders


TODAY, Monday, August 21, U.S. Senator Ben Cardin will take part in two discussions in Baltimore-area communities to exchange ideas on the array of ways that the federal government can better serve Maryland communities.

Monday, August 21 at 10:00 AM, Senator Cardin will join local seniors at West Baltimore’s Sandtown-Winchester Senior Community Center to discuss the federal programs and policies that could be expanded or improved to better serve the needs of citizens. From strengthening Medicare, healthcare and prescription drug coverage to improving Social Security and retirement security, Senator Cardin and participants will share their perspectives on how Congress can ensure that Maryland seniors get a better deal from their government.

Monday, August 21 at 12:30 PM, Senator Cardin will host a town hall-style forum at the Bykota Senior Center in Towson, Md. The senator will provide updates on multiple issues under intense debate at the federal level – such as affordable health care, tax reform, opioid addiction resources and Chesapeake Bay restoration funding – that are of particular importance to Marylanders. He also will respond to questions from attendees on current affairs. Part of an ongoing listening tour to all parts of the state, this forum will allow Marylanders the chance to present their concerns on key issues directly to the senator and other elected officials in attendance.
