TOMORROW: Cardin, Business and Community Leaders to Discuss Concerns with GOP Tax Bill

TOMORROW, MONDAY, DECEMBER 18 at 10:00 AM, U.S. Senator Ben Cardin (D-Md.) will join business and community leaders to discuss the potentially serious ramifications for Marylanders and the nation resulting from the tax legislation being advanced by Republicans in Congress. Senator Cardin, a member of the Senate Finance Committee, will discuss the legislative package presently being rushed through a House-Senate conference committee operating with minimal transparency and outside of normal procedures. The senator will spotlight the massive increase in the budget deficit that will result from the legislation, as well as the many programs on which large numbers of Americans depend that likely will need to be slashed as a result of its passage. Senator Cardin also will hear directly from representatives of several economic sectors expected to be negatively impacted by the measure.
