‘Tis the season for holiday cooking and gift buying!  As the holidays approach, the Baltimore Farmers’ Market & Bazaar has everything market-goers need for festive meals, unique gifts and holiday decorations.  For the 2014 holiday season, farmers offer seasonal items including turkeys, brisket, hams, lobsters, pies, cider, gingerbread cookies, apples, pears, citrus fruit, crab cakes and dips, sweet potatoes, greens, honey, nuts, goat, fish, dairy, coffee, breads, spices, truffles, candy and more.  On select Sundays, shoppers can also take home recipes and tips from avariety of seasonally-inspired cooking demos.  Those looking to purchase gifts can browse the bazaar for a wide range of unique jewelry, soaps and lotions, holiday ornaments, vintage clothing, mugs and other dishes, original works of art, handcrafted baskets, leather goods and much more.  Additionally, as the season progresses, wreathes, Christmas trees and other decorative greenery become available.  Located on Saratoga Street between Holliday and Gay streets, underneath the Jones Falls Expressway (JFX), the Baltimore Farmers’ Market & Bazaar remains open Sundays through December 21, 2014 from 7am to sell out, approximately noon.  Maryland’s largest producers-only market is presented by Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake and managed by the Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts.

Woodberry Kitchen’s own Chef Spike Gjerde prepares tasty seasonal menu items ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.

All cooking demos take place in the market’s west lot.
