On Oct. 21 the Smithsonian National Museum of American History, located on Constitution Avenue, NW between 12th and 14th Streets,  is scheduled to hold  a 2017 Archives Fair: Performance and Preservation from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. The presentation highlights the work of a leading staff editorial cartoonist of the Afro-American Newspaper, Baltimore artist Thomas A. Stockett, from 1955โ€“2007. Stockettโ€™s visual aesthetic is presented with emphasis on the political views expressed through his work and the role of visual art in the Afroโ€™s legacy of social, cultural, and political advocacy on behalf of African Americans and the African Diaspora. The event is free and open to the public.
