Community members gathered to celebrate the 80th birthday of funeral home founder Al P. Wylie on April 10 at Wylie Funeral Homes. Wylie received personal certificates from Baltimore City State’s Attorney Ivan Bates and Baltimore City Police Department Western District’s Major Natalia Preston and a street was renamed in his honor.

Samuel “Big Sam” Brown laid to rest as OAG releases bodycam of fatal Baltimore County Police encounter
The Maryland OAG has released bodycam footage showing the Baltimore County officer’s fatal encounter with Samuel “Big Sam” Brown. Brown died Feb. 27 from injuries sustained during the Feb. 16 incident in Woodlawn.
